To start off my new project - Designer Chair, I chose to make a few mood board/ experimental pages in my sketchbook. These pages would be a good start for my project as I included secondary research photo's from sites such as Google images, but mainly Pinterest, where I also created an inspiration board to form a base for my project that I could always go back and look at, also adding to as I wanted to too. For these pages I also photocopied images from a book (1000 chairs - Charlotte & Peter Fiell)that I found at college to include.
I liked these pages as I payed a lot of attention to how I were to set them out so that they all linked together instead of them looking as if they were parts from different projects. To do this I chose to use a border theme for every page, cutting strips of different colored paper and card and arranging them around the edges. I believe that doing this would more effective in my sketchbook as a whole rather than coloring each individual page the same color for example, as it was a very subtle theme connecting all of the pages in my sketchbook together yet at the same time each individual one could have a different theme and be totally opposite to the previous one.I thoroughly enjoyed creating these pages as I could be really experimental with different types of media and be able to cover up any mistakes and involve them within the rest of the page resulting in original and creative mood boards that are a good base for the rest of my project.
One thing that I was worried about whilst working on these pages was that I chose to look at two completely opposite styles of chair, one being made from wood and using only natural colors throughout and the others being brightly colored imaginative chairs. Although I was worried about this, I continued with my plan of the first pages and the outcome looked very good.
