The first designer that i looked into was Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. I looked on Google to find some information and images about this designer, and to see if they have their own website. Luckily, i found a webiste about Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (miessociety) which was very helpful in finding out information on him. When i had gathered enough information, i printed out images of some designs that van der Rohe has created and glued them onto the edges of the sketchbook pages. I then wrote down all information that I found, filling up two of my sketchbook pages. I thought that these pages as they were, were too boring and plain, so I sketched items from the designs that van der Rohe had created, to fill up the background and make it look more like sketchbook work. These pages turned out looking good, they didn't look as if id found things and stuck them on, taking no care. They look like I have really took care on how I present my work and I am happy with how they have turned out.
Because I liked these first pages so much, I chose to continue studying this artist for another two pages. For these two pages, I focused more on the designs themselves other than the designer. For Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, I chose to focus on his most famous design, The Barcelona Chair. (Shop the Barcelona Chair)
For these pages, I researched a little into the designs of the chair, finding out what it was made for, how it was made and other facts. I also drew parts of this design, making sure it all fit into the scheme of a sketchbook.
I really liked these pages, as I could experiment with my drawing skills, and could focus solely on one design. I could work into these pages as some of the drawing aspects of them aren't really strong, compared to others. This is defiantly something I am going to try and work back into.
For my second Designer, I chose to research Le Corbusier. I did the same process as before for the first two research pages and again focused on the chair desgins themselves for the second two pages.

Marcel Breuer

Phillipe Starck
Ron Arad

Frank Gehry
Arne Jacobsen

I am very proud of my designer research that I did in my sketchbook, I feel as if I thoroughly researched into these designers, and I also found a designer of my own, Arne Jacobsen. I really looked into how the designers made their chair designs, and their type of style. I think that I could work into some of the drawings that I have done, ensuring they are the best of to my ability, but other than that, I am really happy with how these pages have turned out.
